Why Sauna? In Classical Chinese Medicine and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) cold is a constricting force. It inhibits movement and creates stagnation ie pain/tension/disharmony in the body. When we use needles, herbs, topicals and any type of bodywork, we want warmth so muscles relax and blood and fluids can move freely. Our treatments are most effective when the “channels” in the body are warm and receptive. Infrared heat reaches deeply and gently into the body slowly warming at a cellular level. We feel the medicine of acupuncture when combined with the benefits of an infrared sauna is a powerful and unique combination for rectifying what’s gone wrong in the body.

Modern medicine has proven that sweat is more than temperature regulation, it’s also part of the body’s elimination system. Infrared offers a more enjoyable and pleasant experience when compared to traditional saunas. It warms the body from within instead of just heating the air around you. Infrared heat is the same heat used in hospitals to warm premature babies.

Sauna Session Add On
For new patients or existing patients. This 30 minute sauna session is added to your acupuncture or bodywork treatment. You get your acupuncture or bodywork/massage treatment + sauna session. Depending on what treatment you opt for, your sauna session will be either pre or post treatment. It’s an amazing way to extend your treatment!

Important Sauna Facts
It is always important to maintain proper hydration levels during far infrared therapy. Dehydration will increase carbohydrate utilization and cause less fat to be burned for energy. We highly recommend drinking a minimum of 8 oz. of water prior to entering the sauna and a minimum of 8 oz. of water after sauna use.
Prior to your sauna session, you will fill out a consent form. Sauna sessions are not for everyone and your health is our highest priority. Please fully disclose any medical conditions and medications that may cause the sauna to be unsafe for you to use. Your health information is protected, secure and never shared.
Sauna use is by appointment only and each session is private to you.
Sauna sessions are timed so that you have up to the amount of time outlined. You are NOT required to stay in the sauna for the entire length of time. You can exit at any time and re-enter during your sauna session.
Things to do in the sauna: meditate, nap, relax, listen to music.
Cell phones are not allowed in the sauna.
