Make This Immune Boosting, Blood Nourishing Tea

Perfect for when the weather turns chilly!

Wolfberry (Goji berry) also known as Gou Qi Zi has played a prominent role in Chinese Herbal Medicine for a millennia or more. It’s use was first recorded around 200 BCE in Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing.

Long-term use of wolfberry was considered beneficial for strengthening the body, keeping fit, prolonging life, and easing life through all the seasons. It’s protective to the liver, and used in herbal preparations regularly to address issues with the eyes and to nourish yin and blood in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

What’s special about this “herb” is that it’s relatively easy to find, can be consumed like any food and is a tasty addition when added to oatmeal, soups , stews or hot pots.

For those trying to conceive, Gou Qi Zi helps boost sperm production and is a wonderful tonic to the uterus.

To make a simple sipping tea you’ll need:

  • 1 tsp of Gou Qi Zi (Wolfberry/Goji Berry)

  • 8 oz of water

How to:

  • Bring water to boil

  • Add Gou Qi Zi to boiling water

  • Cover and turn heat to low and simmer for 20 min.

  • Strain and sip AM or PM (or both)

Happy sipping!
